What to Pack For a Summer Trip To Sedona, Arizona
Summer in Sedona is actually incredible. Don’t let the heat scare you! With plenty of swimming holes and a high elevation, Arizona’s harshest season can actually be quite enjoyable in these red rock mountains! Here’s a list of five essentials to make sure you have the best trip possible!
Hat – baseball cap, sombrero, bucket hat, whatever cap strikes your fancy is fine by us, just make sure you bring one along. You absolutely will need it.
Windbreaker – while you’re likely to have sunny stifling weather for Sedona’s summer months, monsoons can be quite common in Arizona. And while a thick rain coat is absolutely an outrageous thing to stick in your bag, a waterproof shell, like this one, can totally come in handy.
Novel – the midday summer heat can be tough so you’ll probably end up hiking in the morning and chilling by a creek or swimming hole in the afternoons. Nothing says relaxing under the Cottonwoods quite like a good paperback romance novel, and 100 Promises absolutely does the trick. Set in Northern Arizona, it’s the perfect creekside read that will keep you in the zone while still allowing you to escape.
Mineral Sunscreen – the Arizona sun is infamous for a reason and you absolutely need a strong sunscreen if you’re going to be out and about. We will chose a Badger sunscreen time and time again, but any of your tried and true sunblocks will do the trick!
Boots – the Birkenstocks are totally cute, but if you’re going to be out on these trails, in snake season, you need to go with something with a little more protection. Get yourself a good pair of hiking boots and wear those on the trails!
