A Romance Book to read that’s not by Carley Fortune Emily Henry or Elsie Silver

We all know that these three ladies do romance incredibly well, but sometimes you need to mix things up a bit! That’s why Meliá Grasska’s 100 Promises is just the ticket.

With tons of the same tropes covered by Fortune, Grasska’s first love second chance novel is the perfect segue after you’ve finished Our Perfect Storm or Every Summer After. A really fun and breezy beach read with roots in emotional realism, it’s the perfect follow up if you need a change from Fortune’s universe.

Grasska also matches the structure of Henry in a way that’s unique and refreshing. We stan a novel with dual POVs (because let’s face it, if we didn’t want to know what he was thinking we’d just talk to a man irl). 100 Promises has exactly that. Dual POVs with multiple timelines so even though you’re in a slow burn, runaway bride situationship in the present, you’re able to escape to the past and reminisce on a time when they were sooooo much more than that.

And while Silver seems to have a monopoly on the small town country romance, Grasska’s sliding quickly into second place. With her small desert lakeside town full of interesting characters and a familiar twang, Grasska will have you ready to race dirt bikes down to the swimming hole… even in monsoon season.
