5 Reasons Why 100 Promises Should be at the top of Your Summer Reading List

We all know that nothing says summer quite like cracking open a brand new paperback by the pool. While beach reads and summer houses are nice, here’s why 100 Promises needs to be at the top of your list this summer!

  1. Short Chapters – with a breezy, stream of consciousness style dual narration, 100 Promises was written with the beach reader in mind. With an almost addictive readability, this novel sucks you in instantly, but also gives you space to set things down for a minute. And that’s because author Meliá Grasska gets it – life happens outside of your books. And while in a perfect world you’d have the chaise lounge or boat deck all to yourself, and your romance novel, 100 Promises was formatted with the modern reader in mind. Pick it up and drop it as often as you like. The story is easy to follow and exciting to keep up with. Just be warned – you won’t stop thinking about it, just because you put it down!

  2. Setting – if you feel anything like us you may be sick of every summer story taking place at a summer house or at an exotic location around the world. And while 100 Promises certainly transports you to some incredible locales, the desert setting in Northern Arizona adds a contemporary Western element that’s unusual for a summer romance. But by mixing incredible scenery with a modern way of life, 100 Promises creates a world of desert romance that every reader will want to run away to. Easy to imagine and exciting to dream about, this setting is sure to have you swooning for the red rocks.

  3. Dual POV – we get it, sometimes characters can really drive you up the wall. And there’s nothing worse than screaming at your pages waiting for the FMC to wake the heck up and see that he’s yearning over her. And while there’s certainly a few moments where you’re practically guaranteed to do that, the dueling narration keeps things, realistic. The window into both perspectives adds depth to the story and characters and keeps the pacing bouncing throughout the entirety of the novel.

  4. Lighthearted – the thing about small town country romances is that often times they wind up diving too deep into the turmoil and struggles of reality. And while the characters in 100 Promises are certainly flawed and their struggles are definitely real, nothing ever gets too heavy. It is a breezy summer romance after all! It’s supposed to be fun… and it is… but keep the tissues nearby too!

  5. Trope – the main trope in 100 Promises is first love, second chance. And while that motif is certainly nothing new, this novel shares it in a whole different way. Told primarily through flashbacks, this romance follows our two main characters over the better part of a decade and a half as they try and decipher if theirs is a love story worth running back after or something better left in the dust of his old red dirt town. And with a messy love triangle, it’s something that the reader will have to decide too!
